"Rounding has such a strength that can be one and many at the same time". It is with these simple words that the group, Forró de Rebeca, summarizes the title of their new album "NA RODA". If it literally happens "inside the round" it is because this group places otherness at the heart of its creation while defending music as a mean for collective emulsion.
A plural identity where Brazilian rhythms feed themselves with other aesthetics, incorporating indiscriminately urban cultures and other electrical folklores. A procedure that refers to the practice of cannibalism by Tupi Indians who ate their enemies to receive their skills and strengthen their own identity. References to native Brazilian cultures do not stop there, as the graphic and pictorial identity of this album is directly inspired by body paintings of the Brazilian Indians.
The texts of their compositions refer to the art of ancient troubadours, poeticaly imaging different aspects of everyday life. A very broad range that can both fiercely denounce social injustices or passionately tell a romantic encounter.
Mixed by some of the best sound engineers of French electro dub (Jarring Effects / Supadope Factory), "NA RODA" is a short album of which listening proves tireless. Hybrid and eclectic, the sound of this album should continue to expand the audience for this atypical group. Indeed, behind those delicious melodies lies an unstoppable groove just waiting to explode lively.
