PICCOLA ORCHESTRA LA VIOLA -
The POLV (Piccola Orchestra la Viola) was founded in 1994 following an idea of Alessandro Parente and Antonella Costanzo. Their aim was to collect, in a new key, the memory and the roots of our past years. The folk music is able to put the audience in contact with history of humanity. It traces us back to the relationship that for many years man had established with earth and nature, through the melody of the songs and the use of "poor" instruments.
This orchestra has always followed two aims: on one hand they wanted to recover some musical styles and themes from a philological point of view, and on the other hand the orchestra has never neglected its inventiveness in the composition. The polyphonic use of traditional little accordions, a rhythm composed by drums, electric bass, and percussions. Together with the theatrical voice of Antonella Costanzo, it gives birth to a new concept of concert where we can feel the Earth's voice.
The POLV collaborated with many important italian artists and in prestigious festivals as: 70 Florence May (Florence), Villa Ada (Rome), Auditorium S. Chiara (Trento), Radio3-Suite, Folkest (Spilimbergo), Ventennale del Liri Blues Festival (Liri Island), Festuge (Holstebo-Danimarca), FIMU (Belfort-Francia), Concerts for Quirinale, (Radio 3).......
