Capivara was nominated for a Canadian Juno Award in the Best Global Music Recording Category in 2006
Capivara reflects Celso Machado's profound knowledge of the folklore of Brazil with its improvising poets and festive rhythms: embolada, baião, ponteado, and samba. Celso also pays homage to the Argentinian chacarera, West African Kora music, and Southern Italian tammuriata; musical traditions he has long been inspired by.
Liner notes in English and French with lyrics in Portuguese.
2005 - Capivara (CD) Surucuà Art Production, Gibsons, B.C., Canada.
A recording made possible through the assistance of the Canada Music Fund and the Music Section of the Canada Council for the Arts
