TRAD-MODERN UNION, FROM JAZZ TO TRAD

"...few have blended the traditional so seamlessly with contemporary jazz before, and even fewer have produced something so eminently listenable and satisfying as has Monsieur Maziade and his band of young turks."
Richard Thronley - Penguin Eggs

"An excellent album, trad and jazzed, definitely from this day and age. There are 11 pieces and I like... 11 of them."
Claude Rajotte - Musique Plus, Radio-Canada
"Marc Maziade has created the most futuristic traditional music disc in recent memory."
Yves Bernard - Le Devoir

MAZ is taking off to scale new horizons with their second album Chasse-Galerie This adventurous flight of fancy has carried them to their assignment: balancing Quebec trad with each musician's individual world, which stretches from jazz to rock and even techno. The group's music reels, crafts connections and transports the mind, conserving MAZ's roots in the trad-modern union. Chasse-Galerie is story-telling poetry that will affect your mind and turn your world upside down.

Among its accomplishments, MAZ has received a 2012 Juno Nomination (Instrumental album of the year), three 2011 Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations (Group of the year, Instrumental album and World music album) and a "Instrumental Album of the year" nomination by the Indie Acoustic Project 2011. With enthusiastic reviews and a growing presence on radio playlists across the country, the band continues to gain momentum in the Canadian musical landscape.
