Le Trio BBQ was co-founded in the spring of 2004 by Jean-Michel Berube and Mathieu Beaudet. First inspired by the late Django Reinhardt, "Berube-Beaudet Gypsy Guitar Duet" soon became the official BBQ Trio due to this fortunate pair-up with bassist Vincent Quirion Le Trio BBQ launched a first album entitled CINEMANOUCHE in 2008. On this first instrumental effort, (with the exception of two songs with vocals), the band added a little extra taste to the gypsy jazz repertoire by giving new flavours to TV themes (The Simpsons) and classics from the screen (Harry Potter, Jaws, E.T.)... Since 2006, the band is mainly performing as a quartet with singer LadyKate D. Proclaimed "coup de Coeur" at the 2006 FGMAT* festival, the band has been touring every summer ever since in France, Belgium and Quebec. The band's talent was rewarded in 2009 by the CCL* (Conseil de la Culture des Laurentides) who honored them with the Musical Revelation of the Year award. Just about to launch their second but first all original album with jazz vocalist Kate D, Le Trio BBQ is mustering a collection of new original French songs and instrumental pieces that should see the day online around November 12th. Their 2013 summer tour agenda was busier than ever with dates in Blegium, France and Quebec where the four fellows celebrated their 9th anniversary as a band. They will be back in Europe for sure next year, with their luggage filled with new songs
