Since their foundation four years ago, Fatima Spar and The Freedom Fries succeeded in finding their place between Alternative, World and Jazz, without giving in to the musical hypes of the day or sacrificing their own musical edges to the market.

On their second album "Trust", which was recorded in the renowned Hazelwood Studio in Frankfurt am Main, Fatima Spar and the Freedom Fries bend a wide curve from Singer-Songwriting, Jazz, and Swing to Variety and Calypso.

Fatima Spar is not only the singer who, within minutes, captivates her audience from New York to Kiev, and London to Cairo with her unique voice. Fatima Spar is also a cleverly thought through stage character whose performance, name and lyrics elegantly play around with cliches and prejudice.

In a deep voice "Sarabande" tells the story of an old woman and has one of the most beautiful musical themes since a long time. On "My Little Someone", a song with a beautiful, hymnic melody and a slight 60ies touch, Fatima Spar sings about a great love in a soft and yet compelling way,
"Knock-Kneed-Sal'" turns an old Swing into a twisted, wicked and partly almost bizarre song.

On the title track "Trust", the music throbs ahead of the lyrics and calls for its tribute: polyphonic, powerful vocals and an elegant, seducing chorus with multi-layered sounds en instruments that provide an energetic drive.

"Biting Creepers", a pounding, irreconcilable Calypso tells about hypocrites and offers the only antidote: "When we wanna kiss, we kiss, when we wanna love, we wanna love....".

Apart from one deeply touching but soulful Turkish song and a totally crazy version of Friedrich Hollaenders composition "Die Kleptomanin". all songs are in English.
Fatima Spar and The Freedom Fries play about 100 concerts a year; at the Nottin Hill Arts Club in London, or in the Vienna Konzerthaus, in the famous Concertgebouw in Amsterdam or in Clubs in Kiev, Belgrade and Istanbul and on dozens of festivals across Europe. They play for small crowds as well as for thousands of people and have established themselves firmly on the international music scene; something which the audience can experience at every single concert.

"Trust" gives you more of their talent and shows you that entertainment and quality do not have to exclude each other.
