Vinicio Capossela is one of Italy's foremost artists. For two decades he has succeeded in avoiding crazes and fads to concentrate on a unique proposition based on quality and poetry rather than on the dictates of the music business. Not only was he able to develop and maintain a constantly growing fan base, but also to achieve significant commercial results in 2006. His album "Ovunque Proteggi" reached the number one spot in the charts selling over 80,000 copies only in Italy. Vinicio then played over 100 gigs in theatres and amphitheatres and subsequently released a live cd + dvd called "Nel Niente Sotto Il Sole".
"Ovunque Proteggi" ranked second in the "Best world album 2006" category in the year-end poll held by prestigious international music publication MOJO. The same magazine has reviewed the live cd "Nel niente sotto il sole" as a "record of the month" in its october 2007 issue.
Vinicio Capossela currently has a record deal with Warner Italy, with licensing possibilities abroad. His music is also released in Switzerland and Greece, where he worked in 2006 during an international tour that took him to several European countries as well as Canada and the States.
