MOVIMIENTOS
With their now legendary - jammed out - monthly session at the Salmon and Compass bar and a live Latin night at the Notting Hill Arts Club Movimientos are revitalising the London scene.
They bring together some of the most accomplished & exciting up and coming Latin-centric live music acts, playing traditional roots music, global fusions, and future Latin alternative, from London, the UK and beyond. Alongside a mix of film, poetry, performance, art and visuals their events aim to showcase the diversity of the Latin culture in London & the UK and highlight the passion and energy that gives the music its power to inspire.
Recent guests at their events have included amazing Afro-Cuban Jazz crew Kevin Haynes y Grupo Elegua, upcoming festival favourites Latin Dub Soundsystem & New wave Cumbia Godfather DJ Toy Selectah. Movimientos also play host to the finest UK Urban Latin talent with Sonido Callejero featuring MC Magico & Cuban MC Philipsman (Triangulo Oscuro) both featuring regularly.
Movimientos DJs Cal Jader, Clem George & Pablo N represent the sounds of the global Latin alternative. From folkloric to electronic they mix up Salsa, Cumbia, Hip Hop, Reggae, Reggaeton & Merengue with Samba, Funk Carioca, Latin House, Flamenco & Mestizo rhythms. Música Latina Clandestina!!!
