The Jazz & World Music Showcase returns for its sixth amazing edition on the 29th & 30th of November at Rialto Theatre in Limassol.
The festival is co-organised by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Cyprus Music Information Centre and the Rialto Theatre. Its mission is to promote the music of artists who come from or leave in Cyprus and are active within the broader field of improvisational music to the audience of the island and professionals from the music industry abroad, but also extend their network and opportunities of professional resources.
Moreover, special emphasis is placed on informing and educating artists, as well as those involved in the cultural development of the island regarding the most prominent ways of music production and promotion of today on an international level. This is being accomplished through discussions with music experts and jam sessions.
Festival organizers, producers and representatives of organizations from abroad with whom the Cyprus Music Information Center cooperates will attend the event.
The 6th Jazz and World Music Showcase provides a fascinating spectacle for the audience. This year it presents on stage 8 different bands and more than 40 musicians in total. They will be performing their original music which is influenced by jazz and world music of various countries and nationalities such as Cyprus, Greece, the Balkans and the Middle East.
