Kulbir is one of the founders of the Darbar Festival, the largest annual gathering of Indian classical musicians in Britain.

According to BBC Radio 3 it is "a place where everyone expects and gets the highest quality performances of Indian classical music."

The 2009 Festival took place at at London's Southbank where it presented 20 concerts from international and UK based musicians over 3 days, and by linking with partners across the country we presented 35 more.

Duties include fundraising, marketing, audience development, PR, developing partnerships, various operational matters and producing television programmes.

Darbar has produced some of the highest quality marketing co-lateral in the south Asian arts sector. Audiences have increased annually. Media coverage has included write-ups in The Guardian, TimeOut, Songlines and fRoots, as well as interviews and live sessions on various BBC outlets. BBC Radio 3 has broadcast 10 hours of programming from the Festival since 2006, and I have produced 16 hours of programming for SkyArts in HD, the first time for music from this genre.
Outside the Festival, Kulbir has helped organise events at London's Horniman, and Victoria and Albert museums, as well as develop intensive music retreats.

He produced and edited a book called 'Darbar Arts Culture Heritage' that presented the work of Darbar and looked at the state of Indian classical music in Britain.
