Born and raised in Luanda capital city of Angola, Vivalda Dula is considered as ‘’The New Face of Angola World Music’’ and become the voice of the new generation of Angolan musicians that creates a huge cultural and international impact on today’s Angolan music. This soulful singer, songwriter, percussionist and multi-award winner, has conquered and grace the world music stage with her undeniable talent and excited eclectic music symbiosis between her traditional roots and world music. Also, Vivalda is raising social awareness against child labor, modern slavery, and human trafficking with song “Monandengue“ and her award nominated song “MÁZUI” (Voices).

Vivalda Dula teamed up with Latin Grammy-winning producer Emilio D. Miler for her new solo album Dula, released on August 31, 2018, featuring all original music by Dula, and performances by an international cast of stellar players recorded around the world.

Dula’s career took off when she relocated to USA to pursue a solo music career and released in 2013 her first solo EP named ‘’Insanidade Mental’’ or Mental Insanity. Later on, she toured in the US sharing the stage with musicians such as Salif Keita, Allen Toussaint, Ruth Foster, Cheik Hamala Diabate. In 2015 she released ́ ́Africa ́ ́ that was on the ballots of the 58th GRAMMY Awards (Best Album and Best Music Arrangement).´

Vivalda Dula is multi-award winning and nominated including finalist of StarAfrica Sound, (ISC) International Songwriting Competition and (AMA) Angola Music Awards. In 2015 her full solo album 'Africa' was on the ballots of the 58th Grammy Awards (considered for two categories).

In 2017 Vivala Dula was invited by playwright, theater and opera director, Mr. Gerald Thomas to sing ''Gimme Shelter'' and ''Out Of Control'' from Rolling Stones to his highly acclaimed play named ''Dilúvio'' (Deluge).
