Paloma Povedano is Almasaela. She was part of the Ojos de Brujo collective and was one of the vocalists on their first album Vengue. Paloma has also recorded with Dusminguet, Wagner Pa and 08001. Eolh is her debut solo album and her unique style sees her mixing flamenco and electro whilst adding rumba, buleria, tangos and soleas into the musical melting pot. All songs are self penned and Almasaela is joined by a great cast of musicians. Innovation and emotion could be two words to describe this new artist with such a promising future.

Paloma Povedano, active militant in the racially mixed Spanish musical scene, jumps into the bullring with a beautiful project after its experience like singer in the band Ojos de Brujo and after participating in interesting fusion proposals as those of Brazuka Matraca, Dusminguet or 08001. Eolh is the name of an ancestral stone that means union, encounter and attraction. Eolh is, in addition, a personal form to understand Flamenco music, that it is born of the necessities of expression of a unique talent and a voice. Ten subjects where diverse musical woods occur to encounter of a versatile and reliable way, like bulerias, rumba, tango or soleas and bulerias with Latin American echoes and electronic rates. Almasaela makes a clear bet by the reproduction of flamenco music with a personal sonorous organization, by the composition of subjects with letters of playful and a certain type of protest, where a special emphasis in how daily histories becomes, those from day to day, or the problem of immigration. Eolh is an optimistic and hopeful song, a personal view in flamenco music.
