  • Greg de Villanova (DJ)

The Paris-based, French-Brazilian DJ/producer started his career in 1999 in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, animating local avant-garde parties with high-energy mixes of vintage funk, Afro-beat, Brazilian grooves & salsa. 2002 saw him relocate to Paris, where he's become a figurehead of the local & international tropical oldies music revival, playing a wide range of Caribbean, African, Latin & Brazilian grooves, mostly on original vintage vinyl. It's a floor-filling formula that he's taken across Europe and the Americas. In 2006 he founded the Oriki Music label, debuting with A Night at Club Baobab, a compilation of early 70’s recordings by the legendary Senegalese group, Orchestre Baobab, and going on to release an acclaimed series of vintage African pop as well as new Brazilian music. As a consultant, Greg also specializes in rights owners tracking and licensing.
