Dale Stilimba is a strong debut album. Stilimba's joyful music is a combination of West African and Caribbean rhytms. The name Stilimba combines steel pans and concert marimba, which are the cornerstones of a stilimbatic, distinctive sound. The bands instumental arsenal also includes heptatonic balafon, and the different flutes of Andea, Cuatro, Charango and Tiple, double bass, drum set and percussion. The songs are sung in at least six languages: Finnish, English, French, Spanish, Mandinka and Wolof; a truly international repertoire. The dance solos in a West African style is another important aspect of the Stilimba show.
