Dug Up Music is a UK based record label, manager and promoter of world music. Current artists include the Indonesian Batak group MARSADA (www.marsada.com), KAKATSITSI Master Drummers of Ghana (www.indigenouspeople.org.uk/kakatsitsi) and SECKOU KEITA Senegalese kora virtuoso. Dug Up Music programmes and promotes 'GLOBAL' (www.dugupmusic.com/global), a monthly roots music event in Reading as well as working in partnership with Catherine Steinmann to produce the HEATWAVE tours (www.heatwave.org.uk).



HEATWAVE is an annual roots music tour coming to the UK for the first time in November 2005. This 10-date tour brings hot and vibrant music to UK audiences combining the talents of artists from Africa and Asia. The 2005 event brings together Malagasy valiha master, JUSTIN VALI, with Senegalese kora virtuoso SECKOU KEITA and rising Batak stars MARSADA from Sumatra, Indonesia. HEATWAVE 2005 is supported by Arts Council England, the French Music Bureau, Songlines magazine and the Embassies of Indonesia, Madagascar and Senegel.
