Born in Utrecht (Netherlands) in 2005, where some of its members currently reside, Muyayos de Raiz is an Earth product, a quartet of unusual instrumentation with folk roots from different parts of our continent. Using their own arrangements and compositions, Muyayos de Raiz explores new ways of interpreting traditional music (Tzigane, Celtic, Basque, Galician ...) giving a fresh air, renewed and full of life. All the members come from different parts of Spain (Basque Country, Madrid and Valencia). Muyayos de Raiz sound highlights the fact that they are classical musicians, members of the Eusko Gazte Orkesta, Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y Leon and Joven Orquesta Nacional de Espana among others. They usually collaborate with orchestras such as Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica de Navarra, Orquesta Sinfonica de Bilbao, Rotterdam Kamerorkest and Orquesta Nacional de Espana.
Muyayos de Raiz has performed on numerous occasions in Festivals, Concert halls and Theatres in Holland, Spain and Portugal, being the energy, communication and happiness basic ingredients in their concerts.
In 2006 they won Circuitos Injuve, which consists in a Tour around Spain.
In 2007, Muyayos de Raiz won the First Prize of Ethnic Music from Fundacion Canal.
In 2008 signed with the Independent Record Company El Pescador de Estrellas, releasing in April the first album produced by Paco Ortega.
