Michael Chugg
Michael Chugg became a partner in the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival (Bluesfest) in 2004 and is considered to be a pioneer of the Australian Music Industry having over 40 years experience in organising and promoting international artists. His efforts have not only included promoting some of the biggest concerts in Australia and New Zealand, but also his tireless promotion of Australian music to the rest of the world. Michael has promoted and toured over 150 Australian and international artists making him one of the most prominent and respected promoters, not only within the Australian Music Industry, but also around the world. Michael produced the critically acclaimed Coldplay and Robbie Williams tours along with special events Live Aid and Wave Aid. In 2005 Billboard Magazine named Michael as the 5th biggest promoter in the world, and was the only Australian to make the list. Also in 2005, Michael was awarded the Ted Albert Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding services to Australian music by APRA (Australian Performing Rights Association.) In March 2006 Michael Chugg was awarded promoter of the year at the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) awards in London.
