Betty Ween's new album “Bitter” contains songs that
strike a calmer and more personal tone. “The ice is
meant to melt”– written in response to a grimly
depressing news story about global warming – and
“Comfortable pain” – which criticizes those who live
without paying attention to what's going on in the
world around them– are the outstanding songs on
the album. Brought to life through the creativity of
Gulus Gulcugil, the songs on Betty Ween’s album
“Bitter” have been shaped by some of Turkey’s
reformist musicians, including Onur Turkmen, Selen
Gulun, Demirhan Baylan and Robert Reigle.
