This band, which includes eminent musicians
of the italian folk scene, takes a special
interest in the repertoire of airs and tunes from
the popular tradition of religious subject,
assembled in a highly evocative Christmas
concert.
Offering its blend of ancient instruments from
peasant culture (bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy,
flutes) and classic instruments of cultured
origin (violin and cello), this band has
performed all over Europe in the last ten
years, gathering everywhere a vast positive
response from both audience and critics. In
December 2002, the Ensemble performed at
the Quirinale (the Italian presidential palace):
the show was broadcasted by Radio3, the
cultural channel of the Italian national radio.
