Paul James, a really clever flute-player and
author, committed himself, with the help of
Mark Hawkins, to a brilliant blending of
acoustic instruments and electronics.
James is an influential English musician best
known for leading the Blowzabella in the
1980's and the Scarp (a folk/funk/jazz band) in
the 1990's. Paul plays bagpipes, saxophones
and flutes.
As a musician he has a great knowledge of
British and European folk traditions, but he
has also worked in the classical theatre and
he has cooperated with Asian, reggae, jazz,
classical, pop and dance musicians.
Mark Hawkins is a professional TV, film and
documentary author, with a background in
local rock bands.
Their debut album "Horse" presents many
special guests, like Sheila Chandra, Carlos
Beceiro, Eleanor Shanley.
