Mezei Szilárd (1974) is a young jazz composer from Vojvodina (Northern Province of Serbia) who mostly plays viola in various formations. His orchestras have played contemporary improvised music in a wide range of works and scene works in last 16 years. As a composer, he's interested in relationship between improvisation and composition (like the aleatory of Witold Lutoslawski and compositions of Anthony Braxton), jazz and authentic folk music. As a young musician, he follows the line of B. Bartók and Gy. Szabados. Often composes scene works for Jozef Nadj (www.josefnadj.com), the Europe Theatre Prize winner for 2006.
Mezei's album "Draught" (Leo Records) has appeared on the Top 10 Jazz in 2005 by "Coda", USA. Also, Angelo Leonardi (www.allaboutjazz.com/italy) has declared "Draught" as album of the year.

Mezei trio will present a totally new material on the forthcoming concert. After this event, everybody is invited to Café gallery Yu Fest for a jazz clubbing with Nice & Easy Quartet. Welcome.
