If the name Eva Allyon doesn't provoke instant recognition and admiration in you, you're definitely not Peruvian. Her powerful, husky voice, commanding stage presence and radiant personality have been lovingly appreciated in her homeland for over three decades. She made her first recordings in 1977 as singer with the popular musica criolla group, Los Kipus, and by the mid-1990s she had arguably become Peru's most popular living singer of both musica criolla and Afro-Peruvian styles, with several platinum records to her credit. To date she has released over thirty albums, cementing her reputation as one of the great singers of the mestizo folk-styles of lando, festejo and vals, while moving them forward, incorporating Afro-beat, tango, jazz and salsa into the mix. Time now for the rest of the world to catch up with Eva Allyon
