Ommaigoosh pays tribute to the Persian pop icon Googoosh, playing her hits from the 60s and 70s, when Iran was still a place where music and dance was seen and heard in the streets. But far from being just a cover band, Oomaigoosh puts their own special character on the songs, and has also started to work on own material in the same style.
The band is lead by Bahare Razekh Ahmad, who spent her first years in Iran before moving to Sweden. Besides a singer, she is also one of Sweden's leading actresses. Though the band has only existed for little more then a year, they have already won great acclaim and attention, and has played at festivals and clubs across Sweden.
