Nominated to the MTV Latin Awards in 2006, Doctor Krapula is one of the few independent bands to be followed by the big audience and the mass media in Colombia. Their lyrics transmit a clear message of optimism and anti-conformism. Doctor Krapula's rock-ska is crossed with merengue, salsa, reggae and other Latin genres.
It's been eight years and three albums (El Carnaval de la Apatilla, Dele Wuelta al Disco, Bombea) since Doctor Krapula started as an underground group. Till now they have been awarded as the best year's artist (2006), best year's song (2006), best live rock band (2005), best ska-reggae band (2003, 2004) and much more.
Some of the main live events where Doctor Krapula has performed are: Concert with Manu Chao & Radio Bemba, Bogota (2006); Rock in the Park Festival in Bogota (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006), Concert with the Black Eyed Peas & Smash Mouth, Bogota (2005); Concert for the Human Rights with Orishas & Aterciopelados, Bogota (2005, 2006, 2007) and much more.
