A Young twinkling star in the Latin galaxy, the Afro-Colombian ensemble Herencia de Timbiqui offers a firmly contemporary tribute to the musical heritage of the Pacific coast of Colombia. Combining urban groove and traditional percussion instruments such as marimba, or by crossing African rhythms with irresistible brassy riffs, this 11-musician festive armada spreads out on stage with an intoxicating and communicative enthusiasm. In turns suave and overexcited, their music is carried by the enchanting voices of William Angulo and Begner Vazquez, sound pyrotechnists of this “a gozar” new wave of Colombian music.
