This music collection is based on the
folklore of the Gilan, Mazandaran and
Khorasan regions of Iran.
While arranging and performing the songs,
the artists atempted to reflect the musical
character of the corresponding region by
using the original instrumentation and
singing in the specific dialects.
This performance is aimed at preserving
traditional Iranian music including the old
recitations, since these represent the culture
and history of the regions focused on.
Some of the songs tell about legendary and
heroic persons, who still have their place in
the minds and hearts of the populations in
those regions.
