The festival FOLK IM SCHLOSS in the beautiful small German town of Bad Wildungen takes place since 1996. The main stage is located on the courtyard of the picturesque baroque castle Schloss Friedrichstein.

Another venue for silent and intimate musical performances is the small church in the direct neighbourhood of the castle. The first years the event lasted only one day, since 2001 FOLK IM SCHLOSS presents two days of music.

Started as a Folk Festival in the more traditional sense of the word, in the recent years FOLK IM SCHLOSS has developed into a roots and world music event presenting a wider range of musical styles: music for dancing has its place as well as music for listening, traditional sounds stand beside advanced musical approaches.

With 700 to 1200 visitors it belongs to the smaller festivals, but every year many people from all over the country appreciate the unique atmosphere and magical moments created by extraordinary artists. Beside the musical programme we offer activities for children.
