An artist of solid technique and versatile musicality, Simona Cavuoto has passionately dedicated herself to the ways and techniques of contemporary classical music.

Born in Rimini, Italy, started playing the violin at the Conservatorio G.B. Martini in Bologna, under the guidance of Prof. Gabriella Armuzzi. Attending at the same time, as part of the Trio "F. Schubert", the "International School for Chamber Music of the Trio of Trieste" in Duino where she studied from 1991 to 1995. Continued her studies with Enzo Porta, Valery Gradow in Manneheim and Ruggiero Ricci at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.

Obtained her violin diploma at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Tartini in Trieste in July 1996. From 1997 to 1999 attended the courses of the “Music Academy L. Perosi of Biella” with M. Corrado Romano. Participated in many master classes and courses with Franco Gulli, Michael Frischenschlager, Kolja Blacher, Franco Mezzena, Valery Gradow and Osvaldo Scilla. Since very young trying to keep alive the interest and passion for chamber music by participating in various chamber music ensembles, such as, from 1995 to 2002, the Agorà String Quartet which she had the possibility and honor to form up under the guidance of Franco Rossi, cellist of the historic Quartetto Italiano, from 2006 to 2008 the Quartet Portinari, and since 2007 to nowadays the Trio Arqué.

Performed in various halls in Italy and in several foreign countries as a soloist, chamber music and orchestral groups. Received various violin prizes in competitions such as the International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta, 1999, F. Schubert Competition, 1989; the Competition Città of Monferrato, in 1990. Recorded in 1997 for the label Agorá, a CD devoted to music for two violins by the Italian composer Giovanni Battista Viotti. In 2003 she won the competition to complement the “Orchestra della Fondazione Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi” in Trieste with whom she collaborated until 2005. Since 2006 is part of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (Osesp).

Frequently collaborating with different contemporary music ensembles such as "Percorso Ensemble" and "Camerata Aberta", recording CDs and playing première pieces by young composers generation and highlights pieces by contemporary repertoire.

In 2012 brazilian label ÁguaForte released her first solo record, called “The Violin in the Metropolis”, with works by contemporary brazilian composers.
