Off will be working on a European cooperation project

Casa de la Música de Manresa, in conjunction with Fira Mediterrània of Manresa Foundation, is busy setting up this year's Estepa Mediterrània. The off section of Fira Mediterrània is programmed for 3, 4 and 5 November, and plans are underway to continue developing its distinctive format, reaffirm the objectives set for the pilot event and broaden the concept of its Mediterranean roots.

Overall coordination, programming and technical production for the second off festival is being taken on by Casa de la Música de Manresa, and Fira Mediterrània Foundation will be contributing towards financing and promoting the event. The second Estepa Mediterrània will also be supported by the Euroregió Pirineus Mediterrània project "AA++", enabling groups from the south of France to attend the event. The "AA++" project combines the efforts of the Cases de la Música Network, the French organisations Avant-Mardi (from the Midi-Pyrenees region) and L'Rim (from the Languedoc-Roussillon region), all of whom will be working together throughout 2011, encouraging exchanges to take place between Catalan and French groups and new trans-Pyrenean markets to be opened up.

Call for proposals

The period for submitting proposals starts on 8 March and will remain open until 3 May. Companies, artists, producers and managers interested in taking part should send the appropriate information via the websites www.firamediterrania.cat and www.casadelamusica.cat/manresa from 8 March.
