Taylan Polat was born in Divirigi, Turkey and moved to Istanbul at the age of 5. In 2001 he moved to Cordoba, Spain, to study with reputed flamenco artists such as Paco Serrano, Manolo Franco and Niño de Pura. Now he is the only Turkish guitar player with a flamenco guitar advanced degree and flamenco guitar teacher, composer and creator of his own language and style, called “Flamenturco”. His music integrates the strength and expression of flamenco guitar with sweet melodies and Turkish balads.
Taylan has made several appearances on Spanish and Turkish TV and radio programs, and has performed in international festivals such as Cosmopoética, Enraizados en el viento, Noche Blanca del Flamenco de Cordoba, VII Festival de Cine Africano, Festival Alamar de Almería, and Soujournposse Festival "East meets West" in London.
He has recorded his first studio album (single) "Idas y Vueltas" 2009 and "La Vida Nueva" (The New Life) in 2014 with the colaboracions of famous names like Erkan Oğur, Eduardo Trassierra, Imma La Carbonera, El Oruco.
