Latest reviews

"... (St-Elie-de-Caxton, Quebec), where speech is flamboyant and everyone has a bounce in their step. With their third album, this band, one of the best to come out of the actual acoustic "trad" tendency, demonstrates this well. Artistic qualities abound..." 8.5 / 10
(Yves Bernard, Journal ICI Montreal)

" With a passionate flair for traditional as well as world beat music, these 6 talented musicians create an efficient symbiosis between Quebecois folk, and diverse sonorities rooted in Scandinavia, north Africa and the Balkans."
(Patrick Ouellet, Journal VOIR, Montreal) ***

"Following a lengthy period of creation and research, the group submits a musical document of great quality."
(Pascale Gilbert, Le Journal de Trois-Rivieres)

"Of these eleven particularly generous tunes, the beautiful "Fresque du colon" stands out. It uses more than ten minutes of your precious listening time without ever wasting a second."
(Francois Houde, Journal Le Nouvelliste)

"The arrangements prove to be quite mature. Band members occasionally stray from the narrow path of traditional Quebecois music to venture into world beat. The result is a peculiar sound setting it apart from its peers."
(Philippe Meilleur, Montreal Campus)

"Les Tireux d'Roches shine in each musical style they encounter. In their eclectic universe, they glow with integrity."
(Yaelle Azoulay, Revue Folklore)

"No doubt this group and their 3rd recording with its gruff vocals and imaginative musical constructs will turn heads and excite a few ears, and hopefully, south of the border too. "
