MONOGRAMA was founded in 2006 and became the main character in the lives of four friends who found themselves with several musical affinities. Friends who decided play their favorite songs together, until they discovered the pleasure of writing their own songs. Driven by each other, Guilherme Lopes (guitar, vocals), Leonardo Eugênio (bass, vocals), Icaro Eugênio (guitar, vocals) and Lucas Mortimer (drums) make up the indie rock quartet that mix letters and worked well.

In may 2009, MONOGRAMA launched the first EP, entitled “Conto do faz de conta” (Tale of make-believe). The idea is that the songs were several chapters of the same story and together
form a true story. The reception of the work by the specialized press has been positive and can be verified by the good reviews published in newspapers of Minas Gerais.

From this five-song EP, the band was featured in specializes websites (palcomp3.com.br) and radio (Oi FM), with the song “Meias Trocadas” in programming. After the release of the EP the band played more than 50 gigs, participating in the 53HC Festival 2009 and Grito Rock Festival in 2010, playing many cities of the Off-Axis Circuit (Circuito Fora do Eixo).

In September 2010 the band released their second EP with the label Membrana, and the support from the Pegada Collective and the Off-Axis Circuit. “Da tempestade à calmaria” (From calm to storm) was also released by the virtual label Compacto.REC. This virtual release gave the band great visibility and opened doors for the participation in many festivals of the Mineiro Circuit, which made great shows at Transborda Festival (Belo Horizonte), Jambolada (Uberlândia), Alambique do Som (Barbacena), Gramophone (Sete Lagoas), among others.

In 2011/12, instead of releasing a new album or EP, the band will produce 6 video clips of new songs. The first video comes out in october.

Check out what the specialized media has said about the band:

“The sound is ridiculously nice, the melodies are beautiful and subtle. There's the imminent risk of
humming “Meias Trocadas” near the end of the first hearing.”
Tomaz Alvarenga (Ragga Drops Magazine - Estado de Minas)

“Soon after completing a list of new bands from Belo Horizonte, I became addicted to a music that is surely one of the best news there.”
Rodrigo Ortega (http://pilulapop.virgula.uol.com.br)

“Three great vocalists taking turns in great melodies, striking songs, good stage presence
and an enviable repertoire. It's good to see the influences of “Clube da Esquina” mix with British rock.”
