About LOKOLÉ:
Afro-Rock, the music performed by LOKOLÉ is a mix of different styles: Rock, Traditional African Percussion, Experimental, Ska, Reggae, Progressive, Flamenco, Jazz Fusion, Funk, etc.
Lokole sings in Lingala -language from Kinshasa, D.R. of Congo-, French, Spanish and English.
The creative process within LOKOLÉ has contemporary music as anall-pervading basis, a frame where new ideas fit: percussion contributes power through the beat of foreign rhythms, while electric instruments shape that power and channel it into its final expression trough voice and body movement.
It is body movement that seeks the connection with the people, and breaks through the barrier between the music and the audience. The audience gets involved and becomes a key element of the performance.
