The Global Music Academy aims to educate musicians, musicologists and cultural managers in a diverse range of music cultures and styles and conserve the rich heritage of human sound arts as a source of inspiration to musicians world-wide.
In keeping with the aims of the UNESCO Convention to protect and promote cultural diversity (ratified by the Federal Republic of Germany in 2006) an academic exchange programme is also being developed with partners in Europe and North America, Asia (India, China and South East Asia), the Middle East (focusing on Turkey), Africa and South America.
The Global Music Academy is organised into four departments. These are Global Music Studies, the Global Music Network, the Global Music Institute and the Global Music BoxX, a community music program.
