POUL JACEK KNUDSEN:
I am a danish flamencoguitarist and composer, and have performed throughout Scandinavia and Germany as a soloist with my group "Flamenco Passion" and as an accompanist for singing and dancing.
I also teach flamencoguitar and cajon in Rytmisk Center in Copehagen and each summer we have a oneweek flamencocourse in Vestjyllands Hoejskole near Ringkoebing.
I am also giving classes at The Royal Danish Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and Rhythmic Music Conservatory.
I have had the privilege to work with flamencoartists such as singer Jaime Heredia "El Parron" and guitarist Emilio Maya, guitarist Antonio "Jero", dancer Juan Luis de Paula, dancer Ann "La Pantera", singer Juan Murube, singer Thierry Boisdon and female singer and dancer Pepita Rohde.
I have also had the pleasure working with the legendary danish rockband "Savage Rose", danish classical guitarist Kaare Norge, singer/songwriters Anne Seier and Alouise.
Furthermore I have performed in the musical "Don Quixote - a man from La Mancha" by Dale Wasserman.
In october 2006 I did a performance with Pepita Rohde in Peña Cultural Flamenca "La Fragua" Bellavista in Seville.
In may 2007 I played with Pepita Rohde, cuban bassplayer Yasser Pino and percussionist Peter Ehler at the first international flamenco festival in Ankara, Turkey.
In february 2008 we have recorded 4 songs in traditional flamenco styles with old danish lyrics that have both religious and secular themes.
In february 2009 Pepita and I went to Helsinki, Finland where we did a flamenco-song and -guitar course and performed at Helsinki Flamencofestival 2009.
FLAMENCO PASSION
Flamenco Passion was founded by flamenco guitarist and composer Poul Jacek Knudsen in 2000.
It started as an instrumental trio with bass player Nicolai Land and drummer/cajon player Anders Pedersen.
They toured through Denmark playing at festivals and at different cultural venues and events and recorded the first CD "Flamenco Passion" in 2003 (released on Cope Records).

"Poul Jacek Knudsen and his fellowmusicians, Nicolai Land: bass, and Anders Pedersen: percussion, are all technically proficient and the compositions are stylistically very well-proportioned ..."
Presentation of the CD in the magazine "The Musician":
"The title says almost everything. It is the Spanish folklore which is the central of this well-playing trio that with a nice acoustic sound and a good dose of self-composed themes breathes new life and energy in this genre. "
CD "Flamenco Passion II" will be released in autumn 2010. Here the group is extended with the violinist Bjarke Falgren.

Poul Jacek Knudsen and Pepita Rohde have also performed as a duo in Peña Cultural Flamenca "La Fragua" in Seville.
In February 2009 they performed at the Helsinki International Flamenco Festival 2009 and in July 2009 they appeared as guest performers in "Taberna Flamenca" in Jerez.
In 2008/09, Flamenco Passion worked with dancer Ann Sehlstedt "La Pantera" and gave several concerts throughout Denmark.
Flamenco Passion will present their new album "FLAMENCOPASSION 2" at Globenhagen 2010 friday 29. october 19:30 in Huset, Rådhusstræde as part of the Womex festival
In spring 2011 Flamenco Passion will present two young flamencoartists from Seville; dancer Lucia Álvarez "La Piñona and singer Juan Murube
