The main characteristic of Grupo Bahia has been the preservation of the roots, feeling and spirituality of the music of Colombia’s Pacific coast, through investigation, creation and it’s diffusion in an urban context.
Bahia is an emblematic group, one of the most representative of the music and culture of Colombia’s Pacific coast. Directed by Hugo Candelario, and with a career of more than 22 years, it is part of a cultural movement that has universal recognition . UNESCO declared the music of the marimba of Colombia’s South Pacific as “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”
