The PARTIDO ALTO PROJECT was created in 2007 by guitarists Alessandro Correa and Rodrigo Valle. They met the acoustic bass player Eduardo Belo while studying music at the University of Brasilia. Later the drummer Rafael dos Santos was invited to join the quartet. The first CD of the group is a tribute to 50 years of Bossa Nova that also presents new compositions and new arrangements of standards, seeking a fusion of different styles among them Partido Alto Samba, a style originally based on improvisation. The Partido Alto groove is often used as a base for themes and for the jazz-style improvisation of the Partido Alto Project.
