JOANA AMENDOEIRA - WINNER OF THE AMÁLIA RODRIGUES AWARDS - BEST ALBUM 08

"Joana Amendoeira & Mar Ensemble, a live work that the fadista Joana Amendoeira recorded last summer at the Festa do Fado Festival, Lisbon, was elected the Best Album of 2008.
The jury, which awarded the prizes of this fourth edition, was chaired by Fernando Machado Soares and integrated the musicologist Rui Vieira Nery, the pianist Gabriela Canavilhas, administrators of the Foundation and Nelson Tereso and Américo Lourenço and the journalist Nuno Lopes.

The prize-giving toke place on 9 May at Campo Pequeno in Lisbon.
