Born in 1984 in Liège, Johan Dupont has a rich history of discography. He recorded under the label Igloo three albums, whose repertoires prove his multiple talents in interpretation, composition and arrangement in completely different musical genres:
- The revival of music born in the New Orleans: "Big Noise - New Orleans Function" and the release of a third album on live performance in 2016.
- The Renaissance and Baroque revisited and adapted to the modern times: "Music 4 A While" and the recording of a second album in 2016.
- the Orchestre VIVO, a project of the Americancomposer and trombonist Garret List.
Johan dupont is a pianist excelling both in classical music and swing. His left hand is considered as one of the best in Belgium.
Aside from his concerts and tours with different groups, Johan Dupont is very much in demand in solo performances: no genre stops him, from a jazz arrangement of the sonata of Frederic Chopin to the wacky version of The Ride of the Valkyries of Richard Wagner, without forgetting the vast repertoire of French songs, from Charles Trenet to Claude Nougaro.
Awardee of "Concerts Permanents Dexia", Johan Dupont also obtained his diploma at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Liege, where he is currently a member of the faculty.
