Osman Martins, author and composer, was born in Bahia, Brazil and lived in São Paulo 10 years later. At an early age, Osman became interested tin music, and in between football matches, watched street musicians play. He was particularly fascinated by the "cavaquinho", a small Brazilian guitar.

In 1987 Osman came to Brussels and played with several musicians. He composed for Marcia Maria and Yves Storms among others. Osman also participated in different radio shows. Afterwards, he formed his own group "Euro Samba".

Finally, Osman recorded several albums, namely Caminhada, Tempo de Crescer and in the album Arco-iris, he recorded Bluesette with Toots Thielemans, author of the famous piece.
