Tricycle was called together in 2001 by the Belgian accordeonist/pianist Tuur Florizoone. The limited setting of this trio evokes creativity and imagination. The reseach of sounds and new possibilities on the instruments results in a very personal and organic way of playing their own original compositions, spiced with interaction and improvisation.
Since the release of their first album "ORANGE FOR TEA" in december 2004 they played many concerts in Belgium and elsewhere: Canada, Brasil, China, France, Germany, ...
After several years working in trio, and on the occasion of the release of this second album, "KING SIZE". 'You got it. They went and spoiled themselves and brought along a string of musical friends for the ride. A smooth, king size tricycle fit for rough and rugged roads.
We hope you enjoy the journey'
The group received 3 nominations for the prestigious award 'Les octaves de la Musique' (2005 edition) of the council of the music (Communaute francaise), the Sabam and RTL radio...: nominations for 'Best Jazz Band', 'Spectacle/concert of the season' and 'Artist of the season'.
Some people call it 'jazz', others say 'world' or 'imaginary'... the choice is up to the listener.
