«A graduate of the Brussels Royal Academy of Fine Arts and a self-taught musician, Abid Bahri excelled as a soloist and composer (music for choreography, Qayna, Soufi Stations). Moving between encounters with essential groups such as Ahl El hijra (1975-1983), Weshm (1987-2001) and Luthomania, he never stopped developing his own style.
Abid Bahri alternated the sounds of the oud, mixing them with the aesthetics of a violin or cello. He set us comfortably in a musical sofa of many sound textures, where strings that were scratched embraced those that were plucked
alongside percussion.»
