Czech band Cankisou among the biggest world music stars

Band Cankisou will perform on 2.8.2009 at Svirzh World Music Festival which has invited the biggest names from world music scene. Czech wild rhythms will appear on the main stage between The Klezmatics and Cesaria Evora.

Programe of this Ukrainan festival, which is organised for the first time this year, is absolutely amazing and includes Cesaria Evora (Cape Verde), The Klezmatics (USA), Zdob Si Zdub (Moldavia), Altai Kai (Russia), Kroke (Poland), Speed Caravan (France), Eastblok Music DJ Team (Germany), Little Cow (Hungary), Figli di Madre Ignota (Italy), Transkapela (Poland), Svjata Vatra (Ukraine-Estonia) and many more.

The festival takes place from 31.7. till 2.8. in a village called Svirzh which is close to the city of Lvov. Music and literature, dance and handicrafts, cuisines and dramatic arts almost from all corners of the world will be presented at the festival. More then 60 concerts will take place on 3 stages during 3 days.

Before leaving for Ukraine the Cankisou band will also make a fusion with Rajery, a musician from Madagaskar, who comes to a Czech festival called Folkove prazdniny in Namest nad Oslavou. The concert takes place on 25.7. The band met Rajery at Manapany Surf Festival 2006 on Reunion island.
