....Electrocuting the tango....
Argentine tango-poet Horacio Ferrer about Electrocutango:
"Sverre Indris Joner is a creative remarcable tanguist and has with Electrocutango obtained a total, irreproachable and refined version of new tango in this 21st century.
This admirable Norwegian pianist, composer, arranger and director demonstrates that the tango still can keep its youthful aesthetic and challenging courage like in the old times.
He sometimes remind of my dear colleague Osvaldo Tarantino. His devotion for the styles of Salgan and Piazzolla shines through, using it as exquisite perfumes within a totally personal style full of rhythmic complexity, reflected in his inspired and original compositions."
Although from Norway, Electrocutango did their latest release in Buenos Aires (on Random Records) and played at legendary tangoclubs like La Viruta and Club Catedral, bohemian cafees like Sanata Bar and modern music-clubs like Club Notorious. And at the prestigious Academia Nacional Del Tango The national tango-academy in Argentine, where bandleader & composer Sverre Indris Joner got the honorary title Academico Correspondiente at Academia Nacional Del Tango de Argentina from nobody less than Horacio Ferrer.
Closer to an "approved-stamp" its hard to get...
