Naples' region authentic folk tradition: tammurria at its highlight! Tammurriata is linked very tightly to tarantella, and represent the "folk" side of the genre.
Simone lives just a stone throw from excavations of Pompeii, and like the famous picture found in Villa of Mysrteries (dated 39 b.C.), he and his group still play tammurriata with the same instruments, the same way of playing them and the same dance movements... really an amazing heritage!
"Aizamme sta tammorra" is a must! This record stands amongst the most important "documents" of Italian ethnical/folk music since ever.
