Place of work:
Institute of Arts of Polish Academy of Sciences (26/28 Dluga str. Warsaw) as assistant in Department of History of Music (since 2004) and as responsible for Phonographic Collection of Institute of Art (since 2000).
My chosen recent fields of activity and specialization:
1.Sound archiving of traditional music in Poland (the oldest sound archive of traditional music in Poland in Institute of Art, documentation – field researches, methods of preservation, protection and archivisation of sound documents, technical aspects of digitalisation, recordings etc.
2.Problems of the role and meaning of music in traditional religious custom – During my field research on traditional music in Poland (especially central part of Poland) I study instrumental and vocal music practice and musical customs connected with the church calendar. The subject of my doctor thesis is: The role and the meaning of instrumental and vocal music in traditional religious (catholic) customs in Poland. The music examples for my work are based mainly on documents from Phonographic Collection of Institute of Art.
3.The role of tradition in contemporary cultural education in Poland (elements of folk culture in music education)
