The Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF) will be India's first annual festival of regional roots music and the arts. At the core of the event will be singers, dancers, instrumentalists, storytellers and artisans from more than fifteen Rajasthan folk communities – many of them unknown to the outside world. Performing artists of national and international standing will also join the celebrations, giving staged evening performances of roots music from around the world and collaborating with local musicians to create vibrant new sounds. Planned to coincide with the brightest full moon of the year, all Festival events will take place in the spectacular Mehrangarh Fort, which soars skywards from the craggy cliffs that overlook the 'blue city' of Jodhpur.
