Jamie Smith's MABON confirmed for Rainforest World Music Festival

The internationally acclaimed Rainforest World Music Festival, Borneo and Welsh Interceltic
super group Jamie Smith’s MABON are thrilled to announce that the festival has invited
the band to perform at the festival in June 2014.
The band are delighted to announce and accept this invitation, especially whilst attending the
international WOMEX event in their home country of Wales. The invitation tops off a remarkable
year of shows across Europe and precedes the band’s headline ‘Taith ADRE Tour’
across Wales in November.
Jamie Smith, MABON’s composer and accordionist, states: “Being invited to this festival is
a great honour for the band, its status as one of the great festivals in the world is already well
known. We certainly look forward to performing to a completely new audience and making
many new friends in a different part of the world”.
Jun-Lin Yeoh, Artistic Director of the festival said “I am delighted that Jamie Smith’s MABON
is coming to the Rainforest. It’s the first Welsh band the festival has invited to the festival.
They are going to be a hit with our audience”
The Rainforest World Music Festival, held annually against the backdrop of the rainforest in
Kuching, Sarawak in Malaysian Borneo will be 17 years old next year, and has been voted
as one of the top 25 festivals in the world by the Songlines music magazine in the last 4 consecutive
