Al-Andalus es fruto de un trabajo de colaboracion que se inicio en Marruecos, Espana y Estados Unidos entre artistas de estos paises con el fin de promocionar el legado andalusi y darle una forma contemporanea e internacional.
La impregnacion del jazz sobre la musica andalusi y una amplia experiencia musical construyen una obra inspiracional, guiada por nuevos lenguajes que unen oriente con occidente.
Desde finales de los anos ochenta los Banzis emplearon el termino 'Contemporary Andalusian' para describir la obra de su conjunto.
This presentation is fruit of an international collaboration initiated in Morocco, Spain and the United States between artists of Andalusian origins (Moroccan and Spanish) and American Jazz and contemporary music artists.
Hailed as a new musical language that unites the East & West, the Banzi's lives and music reflect their commitment to create peacefull understanding among Muslims, Jews and Christians.
Celebrated Jazz critic Ted Gioia has likened the Banzi's approach to Andalusian music as a "development as fruitful as Astor Piazzolla's when he shocked the Argentinean establishment with his "Nuevo Tango" (www.TedGioia.com; www.Jazz.com)
