Jimmy Traeskelin is a Finnish singer-songwriter, whose material combines flavours of folk, blues and oldtime as well as Finnish-American tradition and harmonica music. His debut album Tuulisen kylaen poika (Boy from a Windy Town) was published in July 2011 by the Folk Music Institute. Traeskelin's songs are a variety of romantic visions and boisterous ballads conjuring e.g. images of the seaside complete with stormy clouds, near-abandoned lighthouses and sirens.

Jimmy Traeskelin & co presents the artist with two fellow musicians. Leeni Wegelius is an adept player of the kantele (a Finnish traditional zither) and Sampo Korva is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in string instruments such as the mandolin, ukulele and charango. Together the trio becomes an uncommon type of string band with a fascinating instrumental sound as well as an energetic emphasis on vocal harmonies.
